Construction Workplace Accident
Case Background:
Injury Law Partners’ cofounder Ben Baer secured a $4.7 million dollar settlement for a client struck in the head by a piece of steel on a construction site. The 50-pound piece of steel was dropped from an elevated platform, fell 40 feet, and struck the ILP client standing on the ground below. The dropped object fell due to unsafe work practices.
Case Result:
In September 2024, this case was resolved at mediation for $4.7 million. The recovery was due to the ILP attorneys diligent work, including the depositions of numerous eyewitnesses, safety professionals, and corporate personnel. ILP attorneys were able to obtain admissions that the worksite practices violated federal law, violated industry standards, and the defendant’s own safety manual and training. ILP attorneys also worked closely with medical experts to demonstrate the extent of the injuries through medical animations and illustrations. Fortunately, the final result provides enough money to ensure all future medical care and give this worker and his family financial stability.
